So dig it, y'all.... I've frequently referred to indieWIRE as a baby of whom I no longer have custody. Well, turns out someone bought my baby. SnagFilms. Dig it: SnagFilms Acquires indieWIRE

And as a part of that, here's my new blog, Docsider!

I CAN READZ DOC BLOGZ?

One thing I forgot to mention when I announced my new site design was the new "bookmark" feature. It's a handy little button on each post that looks like this:
button0-bm.gif

What does this do? Well, it enables you to add my entries to del.icio.us, digg, StumbleUpon, technorati and hosts of other social bookmarking sites. So if you like a post, please click on this link and add me!

Thanks!

Welcome my friends, to the blog that never ends! (Shit, I don't even like The Tubes Emerson, Lake and Palmer...oh well...) So I have, as you can see, completely re-designed my blog (isn't it purty?) with the help of the friendly and cost-efficient folks over at Firmdot. Over the next few days you might notice a few broken image links, but I am correcting them as soon as possible. Got any design suggestions? Drop me a note at: mark (at) rabbireport.com

Sorry for the look of the site. Some of my old design didn't take with my upgrade to Movable Type 4.0. I've engaged professionals who will have it up and running in short order...I hope!

Please bear with me!

All the best,

-Mark

Dear Gentle Readers,

I have recently signed up for the Blog Reader Project, a way of collecting demographic data in order to help bloggers reach potential advertisers. The project is being funded and organized by Blogads.com, a leading blog advertising network. So do me a favor and fill out the survey. It'll help potential advertisers know how cool my readers are and it'll only take a few minutes!
Please take my Blog Reader Project survey.

Please join me in welcoming my 1st correspondent, Adam Schartoff. Some of you met him during the recently concluded Tribeca Film Festival and others will meet him during the coming months.

The product of two graphic artists, Adam was raised on the mean streets of Forest Hills. Growing up in the 70's, his Dad would often take him along to movies that were inapproprately mature, movies like Chinatown and The Heartbreak Kid. But it instlled in him a love for movies that has only grown over time. After spending many years as a cog in the music industry and then dipping his toes into performing original material, Adam has now finally decided to take the plunge into film blogging.

Sucker!

flickr_logo_gamma.gif.v1.2.7.gifOk, so I have finally gotten around to switching from Buzznet (they are so '05) to Flickr and am in the process of posting pix, some with witty bon mots, even! So far, it starts at the indieWIRE anniversary party in late November 2006 up to Berlin, 2007. Keep checking back, as by the end of next week I hope to have a few years worth of pix loaded, most of which have never been in this blog before and many of which include you. Yes, you!

So come on by and check them out and comment, comment, comment!
Even better, join Flickr, put your own pix up and be my friend!

Thanks.

Dear Gentle Readers,

My apologies for the lack of updates, but my computer is in the shop, along with the pix, video clips and text needed to post my next several items. However, I should be back up and running this weekend.

Thanks for your patience!

666.jpgToday I am adding a new category to The Rabbi Report. Named in memory of martyred former Chilean president Salvador Allende, the award will honor men and women of political and social vision the world over in the hopes that their courage as well as a sense of freedom and fair play might inspire even the few folks who read my scribblings. Inspired by the death of the man who led the coup that overthrew president Allende and plunged Chile into almost two decades of darkness, repression and murder, I hope to use this category to, in my own little way, spread the word about people doing good around the world.

So the first Allende Award goes to Spain's Prime Minister, José Luis Rodríguez Zapatero.

My sincerest apologies for my lack of updates. Some recent events in my life have kept me mentally and emotionally occupied and to be honest, I just haven't been in the mood for blogging. However, life goes on, as they say, so on with the posting!

Coming soon:
More from AFI, Denver, the iW 10th anniversary party, Holiday parties, my thoughts on some year-end films, awards, politics, etc., etc.

Sorry for the delay in new posts, folks! It seems I have gone and gotten myself the flu. It's 72 degrees in NYC and I have the flu.

I hope to pop up bright and shiny like on Monday, though!

Have a nice weekend, y'all!

-Mark

I had a catastrophic computer crash this week, so I've been unable to update the blog. I am up and running on a rental though, so more posts are coming, fast and furious...I promise!

Welcome one and all to the new Rabbi Report! Step right in. There's no admission fee and repeat visits are quite encouraged. Stay as long as you like, we won't kick you out. You can even comment on what we do here and no one will squawk. Well, maybe a little.

We encourage dialog, constructive criticism, occasional tomfoolery and rampant partisan hackery, so jump in and let slip the dogs of war!

It's all good, y'all!

Mark
