Home Video Roundup: Some upcoming nuggets of goodness!

In what I plan on making a regular feature, here are a few upcoming video releases that I am looking forward to. They aren’t full reviews, because I don’t have my hands on copies (yet) but I know (or know of) the source material and I am damn excited to see them all! Included are: [...]

Star Trek: TNG Meets Doctor Who? Erm.....

In the “I’m not sure about this” category, BBC and IDW have announced a bizarre crossover “event” between Star Trek: TNG and Doctor Who, involving the Borg and the Cybermen, with the entire galaxy at risk. (What? Not the Universe?)  Erm, ok. I mean, I love TNG and I adore The Doctor, but just because [...]

“The Invisible War” and the Ongoing Subjugation of Women in America

Congratulations to director Kirby Dick and producer Any Ziering for the pickup of their powerful new doc The Invisible War by Cinedigm Entertainment Group and New Video. I saw the film at Sundance and in addition to being a great film, it’s extraordinarily important in these times of increasing violence against and institutionalized subjugation of [...]

Falling Skies Arrives on DVD/Blu-ray on June 5th

Attention men and women of the 2nd Massachusetts Militia Regiment:

Just in time for the TNT premiere of season 2 this summer, Warner Home Video has announced a release date of June 5th for the season 1 DVD and Blu-ray sets of one of my favorite new Sci-fi series of last year, Falling Skies. A [...]

Golden Globes: Final Tally

Ooops.

Golden Globes, Hour Three: 7pm - 8pm

Thanks for joining me in my Tweet/blog of the Golden Globes and tune in on Thursday as I start in on the 2012 Sundance Film Festival!

7:58 – Ricky Gervais puts a final touch on an uneven night by a last minute mention of the largesse of the evening and how that doesn’t really jibe [...]

Golden Globes, Hour One: 6pm - 7pm

6:50 – Ok, two-thirds of the way in and Ricky better up his game. He’s been shockingly tame. And MIA.

6:48 – Shockingly, I have no opinion on The Help, since I haven’t seen it, yet. If Disney wants to send me a screener, I’ll watch it. (Hint. Hint.)

6:42 – Can we please issue [...]

Golden Globes, Hour One: 5pm - 6pm

5:53 – My 1st hour scorecard? 5-3. That’s pretty piss poor.

5:52 – Yay! Even Madonna gets played off!

5:48 – Am I wrong in thinking that playing off a non-English speaker because it takes him longer to get the words out in his second language is in bad taste?

5:47 – Another no-brainer, but [...]

Golden Globes Pre-Show

Tonight I’ll be blogging the Globes live and splitting my posts into 3 1 hour blocks. Check back often!

4:48pm, PST: Am I crazy or was that Paragard commercial terrifying?

My supplies for tonight’s live blogging of the 69th Golden Globe Awards:
