[...] A review of Bertrand Tavernier’s Berlin competition film, In the Electric Mist, starring Tommy Lee Jones, Peter Sarsgaard, John Goodman, Mary Steenburgen, Kelly MacDonald, Justina Machado, Pruitt Taylor Vince, Levon Helm, Buddy Guy, James Gammon and Ned Beatty. A decent but uneven and overloaded mystery cum supernatural thriller. [...] It’s Bourne and Bond stripped of virtually all the action and thrills, The Parallax View sans any paranoia and as far as evil doers go the law firm and their clients in Michael Clayton were far better villains than this film’s collection of faux-sinister bankers cum arms dealers.
