Luis Figo: Greedy, Stupid Or Both?
According to published reports, Real Madrid's out of favor star midfielder Luis Figo has priced himself out of European football, with Qatar or Japan his likely destination. Wow. Way to finish up a stellar career, hunh? Talk about off the grid. The 32 year-old Figo scored 7 goals for Real this past season but only netted once following a brace against Roma in a Champions League match on December 8th, 2004.
According to Liverpoolfc.tv and the Daily Star, Figo's wage demands of £90,000/week has been turned down by four Premiership clubs: Liverpool, Arsenal, Chelsea and Manchester United. According to multiple media sources, Figo is now likely to move to Turkish giants Galatasaray, Quatar's Al Rayyan or Japanese J-League club Urawa Red Diamonds as all are prepared to meet his ludicrous wage demands.
Have fun as the big fish in a little pond, instead of a big fish in a big pond.
